Nigerian teenage sensation, Kparobo Ariehri, is set to start his European journey after arriving in Norway to finalize a deal with Lillestrøm Sportsklubb.

Hailed as one of Nigeria’s emerging football talents, Ariehri’s trajectory has been spectacular, from his stellar performances in the Flying Eagles’ recent success to his record-breaking club season.

Ariehri’s stock rose with his match-winning displays at the WAFU B U20 Championships in Togo, where he was instrumental in Nigeria’s title-winning campaign. In an intriguing final against the Black Starlets of Ghana, he netted twice, ensuring a 2-1 victory and earning the Man of the Match accolade. This performance sparked interest from several European scouts, with Lillestrøm quickly moving to secure his signature.

Beyond his contributions to the national team, The 17-year-old made history with Nigeria's Beyond Limits Academy earlier this year at the Viareggio Cup in Italy. His five goals in six games drove Beyond Limits to a historic victory, marking them as the first African side to win the tournament.

Pre-Contract Agreement with Lillestrøm for Kparobo Ariehri

Following this remarkable run, Ariehri signed a pre-contract agreement with Lillestrøm. He is expected to formally join the Norwegian club in January 2025. Until then, he will train with the squad, gaining invaluable exposure to European football.

His goal-scoring prowess also shone at the Gothia Cup in Sweden, where he scored eight goals to propel his academy to the semi-finals.

He finished the season with an impressive 42 goals across competitions. 

Ariehri’s journey from youth tournaments to a promising European career has now officially begun, placing him among several notable Nigerian talents who have thrived at Lillestrøm, such as Anthony Ujah, Nosa Igiebor, Akor Adams, and Ifeanyi Matthew.
