Ibrahim Olawoyin delivered a commanding performance as Çaykur Rizespor secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Adana Demirspor in the Turkish Super League on Sunday.
The two-cap Super Eagles midfielder was instrumental, registering a goal and an assist to take his tally for the season to two goals and three assists.
Olawoyin opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a clinical finish into the bottom corner following a clever assist from Casper Højer. Shortly after the break, the Nigerian set up Ali Sowe with a perfectly weighted through ball for Rizespor’s second.

Compatriot Babajide David Akintola was equally influential, winning a decisive penalty in the 68th minute after tormenting the opposition defense. Rachid Ghezzal converted from the spot to restore Rizespor’s two-goal cushion before Adana Demirspor pulled one back late.

The former Enugu Rangers star showcased his all-around ability, completing 53 touches, 26 accurate passes (81%), and one key pass.

Akintola, meanwhile, completed 41 touches, delivered 12 accurate passes, and created one big chance with a pinpoint cross. The Super Eagles hopeful also succeeded in all three of his dribble attempts and won a crucial penalty to aid Rizespor’s victory.
Rizespor’s win moves them upto eight on the table, with nine points away from a UEFA Europa Conference League spot.
