Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has shifted his focus to the upcoming AFCON 2025 qualifiers with the Super Eagles after a stellar performance for Galatasaray on Sunday.
The 25-year-old forward netted a clinical brace in Galatasaray's thrilling 3-2 victory over Samsunspor. Sunday's victory saw the Turkish champions strengthen their grip on top of the league, extending their lead to six points with a game in hand.
Having missed last month's fixtures due to injury, Osimhen is now focused on making an impact for Nigeria as they aim to secure qualification for next year’s AFCON tournament.

In the aftermath of the match, Osimhen spoke to the press, reflecting on the victory and emphasising how it boosted both his and his teammates' spirits as they now turn their attention to international duty with their respective national teams.
“The victory was important. We will go to the national team with a lot of self-confidence. When we return, we have the power to win every match. We got a very important victory. I am very happy at Galatasaray, the fans love me very much. I dedicate the victory to them,” Osimhen said as reported by Fotomac.
Osimhen has made nine goal contributions for the Turkish champions in eight games across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing three assists, while averaging 75 minutes per game.
Austin Eguavoen's Super Eagles will face the Cheetahs of Benin as guests on Thursday, 14 November, before hosting Rwanda on Monday, 18 November.
The team remains unbeaten in their opening four matches, securing three victories and a draw, and currently sit atop the Group D table with 10 points.
