Turkish manager Yilmaz Vural has commended Victor Osimhen's exceptional talent, highlighting his remarkable abilities on the pitch, but also voiced concerns over the valuation of the Super Eagles forward.
The 25-year-old joined the Turkish giants on loan after failing to secure a permanent move away from Napoli on deadline day. He has since emerged as a revelation in the Turkish top flight since his arrival in September.
The former Lille Man's loan agreement with the Turkish club is set for a season, it includes a break clause that enables him to depart in January if any of his preferred European clubs show interest and are prepared to meet his buyout clause of €75 million (£63.2 million).
However, Vural expressed doubt that the Istanbul-based side could secure Osimhen on a permanent deal, advising them to prioritise more affordable strikers within their financial reach.
Vural highlights Osimhen's brilliance but advocates for budget-friendly alternatives
Speaking on the Telegol program via Haber Sari Kirmizi, Vural shared his perspective on Osimhen and his potential impact at his new club.
The 71-year-old stressed the need for Turkish clubs to focus on developing and signing local talents rather than pursuing high-profile players with hefty price tags like the Nigerian forward.
“Victor Osimhen is a magnificent footballer. He can pass people with his dribble, he has incredible control over aerial balls. He is a real centre forward and his technical and physical characteristics are very good.
“However, 75 million Euros is really too much. Our big teams like Galatasaray should acquire names like Barış Alper Yılmaz and Kerem Aktürkoğlu from the lower leagues.”
The on-loan Napoli man has made nine goal contributions for Galatasaray in nine games across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing three assists, while averaging 75 minutes per game.
