Trabzonspor retain Onuachu desire, to return in January

Turkish media reports indicate that Trabzonspor has renewed its interest in Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window.

Karadeniz Fırtınası, having bolstered their squad with 11 new signings, has faced significant challenges in front of goal, managing only one win in seven matches and scoring just seven goals.

In light of these struggles, the club have identified Onuachu as a key target to help resolve their ongoing scoring difficulties.

The Super Eagles forward had a successful loan spell with the club last season, during which he contributed 21 goals in 25 appearances—netting 17 goals and providing four assists.

After the end of his loan, Trabzonspor expressed significant interest in acquiring him on a permanent basis. However, their initial bid of €7 million, plus €2 million in potential add-ons, was rejected by the English club.

Will Southampton let Onuachu go despite Ross Stewart's injury?

Reports from Take Gazette indicate that Trabzonspor have reached out to Southampton regarding a potential January transfer for Paul Onuachu.

The Saints have set a price of €12 million (£10.3 million) for the towering striker, a figure that Trabzonspor may struggle to meet due to financial limitations from their summer budget.

Onuachu has previously expressed a strong desire to return to Trabzonspor, contingent upon the Turkish club securing a permanent deal.

Since rejoining Southampton, he has had limited opportunities, making only one appearance—a brief 15-minute stint in their recent 3-1 defeat to Arsenal. Despite his lack of playing time, Onuachu garnered positive feedback from both the coach and pundits during that match.

With Ross Stewart currently sidelined due to injury, Onuachu's profile closely mirrors that of the Scottish striker, which raises questions about whether Southampton will consider letting him go.
