Two Super Eagles stars are set to go at each other when Venezia welcome Udinese to Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo on Friday, November 6, 2026, in one of the key Serie A games of this weekend.

Venezia vs Udinese kicks off at 8:45pm Nigerian time in Serie A Matchday 11, and it pits the bottom two clubs in the table against each other.

Udinese are 19th on five points and Venezia are 20th on three, so a home win would lift Venezia above their visitors.

Both clubs have changed coach in the past three weeks, and Davide Nicola has one win and three defeats from his four league games since taking charge of Venezia on October 16.

Paolo Zanetti was presented by Udinese on Wednesday, two days before his first match, after Kosta Runjaić was sacked following a 5-2 home defeat by Roma.

Zanetti knows the opposite dugout well, having coached Venezia from 2020 until April 2022.

🇳🇬 Akor Adams has scored two of Venezia’s three home league goals this season.

Will Akor Adams Play for Venezia?

Fitness status: Available, no injury or suspension listed
Predicted XI: Named in a 3-5-2 in every projected line-up
Rotation risk: LOW, as Adams is the fixed point while Nicola changes the players around him
Manager comment: Nicola has praised his commitment and said he has huge room to improve
Verdict: PROBABLE STARTER

Adams is in the squad of 28 named by Nicola and will likely start. John Yeboah is favoured to partner him, with Lion Lauberbach the alternative, and Kike Pérez is expected to return in midfield.

Udinese’s back three is less settled, with Solet back from a muscle problem and Zanetti yet to decide how many minutes he can play.

Zanetti has spoken of using either a 3-5-2 or a 3-4-2-1, so Adams is likely to meet three centre-backs whichever he chooses.

Nicola has said the timing between his passers and runners is off against a defensive line, which goes some way to explaining why Venezia have scored so rarely.

Nigerian Spotlight: Akor Adams and Maduka Okoye

Adams joined from Sevilla in July as Venezia’s record signing, after scoring 10 goals in La Liga last season.

His 1-0 winner against Napoli on October 17 earned an 8.2 rating from FotMob and remains Venezia’s only goal in four league games under Nicola.

Venezia have scored just six league goals in 10 games, and Adams accounts for two of the three they have managed at home.

Venezia’s single home win of the campaign is the one Adams decided, and the 26-year-old has been their most reliable route to goal at the Penzo.

At the other end, Okoye keeps goal behind a defence that has conceded 23 league goals in 10 games, including five against Roma on October 31. His one clean sheet came in the 0-0 draw at Parma on October 28, when he saved a second-half penalty.

The Bianconeri also have midfielder Jesper Karlström one yellow card away from a one-match ban, and referee Juan Luca Sacchi averages 3.3 yellows per Serie A game.

Venezia vs Udinese Form: Two Defences Under Pressure

Venezia have lost nine of their 10 league games, and their last five read Atalanta 1-3, Napoli 1-0, Genoa 0-1, Inter 0-2 and Como 0-1. That run produced just two goals while seven went in at the other end.

Udinese’s last five are Torino 1-2, Lecce 0-3, Milan 0-2, Parma 0-0 and Roma 2-5, which adds up to three goals scored and 12 conceded.

The sides met in the Coppa Italia on September 2, when Udinese won 2-1 after Vakoun Bayo scored twice, and Bayo is still recovering from a hamstring problem.

Goals have been common in this fixture, as each of the last five meetings between the clubs produced at least three.

Venezia are also without Bartol Franjić and Marin Šverko, with Thierry Correia only just back in training, while Udinese are missing David Alaba, Idrissa Gueye and Alessandro Zanoli.

Three calls stand out on this fixture, and each is an analytical opinion that could be wrong.

The Banker backs Venezia not to win, since they have taken one victory from 10 league games and failed to score in three of Nicola’s four.

Adams to score at 2.40 is the Value Play because he is the one Venezia forward certain to start against a back line whose make-up depends on how many minutes Solet can play.

Ekkelenkamp is the Big Odds Flutter, as the Udinese top scorer on three league goals plays in the pocket behind a striker who is not at full fitness.

🎯 Venezia vs Udinese
Banker
Double chance, Udinese or draw @ 1.67
Venezia have won once at the Penzo this season, and the draw is covered as well.
Value Play
Akor Adams to score anytime @ 2.40
He leads the line in every projected XI and Udinese are unsure of Solet for the full 90 minutes.
Big Odds Flutter
Jurgen Ekkelenkamp to score anytime @ 3.85
Udinese have scored seven of their 11 league goals away from home, and he supports Keinan Davis from midfield.

Venezia vs Udinese Prediction

🔮 Venezia 1-1 Udinese
Venezia have conceded 10 goals in five home games and Udinese have conceded 12 in their last five, so neither side can protect a lead, and a goal for each looks the likeliest outcome. Likely scorers: Adams and Ekkelenkamp.
