AC Milan’s decision to complete a club-record move for Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos could have a major impact on the future of Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen, Afrik-Foot reports.
Milan have agreed a deal worth between €53 million and €55 million, including bonuses, to bring Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain. The transfer breaks Milan’s previous record set when they signed Rafael Leão from Lille and marks one of the biggest deals completed in Serie A in recent years.
Ramos reportedly completed medical checks while with Portugal in Florida, and the deal was pushed through after Milan owner Gerry Cardinale used his strong relationship with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to secure the striker ahead of rival clubs.
The move is also a huge statement from new Milan manager Rúben Amorim, who specifically requested Ramos as the striker to lead his new-look attack.

The transfer offers regular football for Ramos after spending much of his PSG career rotating under Luis Enrique. He leaves Paris after scoring 45 goals and providing 10 assists, with his final contribution being a penalty in PSG’s UEFA Champions League final victory over Arsenal.
However, Ramos’ departure may prove just as important for another striker; Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen.
Victor Osimhen: Ramos exit gives PSG the striker opening they wanted
PSG’s pursuit of Osimhen is not new but it has often been complicated by their crowded attacking department.
Luis Enrique was reportedly reluctant to bring in another elite centre-forward while both Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani remained part of the squad. Carrying multiple high-profile strikers would have created selection headaches and increased the club’s wage bill significantly.
With Ramos now heading to Milan, PSG, who could also lose Bradley Barcola, suddenly have room for a new leading striker. And it could be the perfect time for Osimhen to step in.
The Nigerian international has built a reputation as one of Europe’s most dangerous forwards because of his pace, physical strength, aerial ability and relentless pressing. While PSG possess technically gifted attackers such as Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola, they lack a dominant penalty-box striker capable of bullying defenders and converting difficult chances.

Luis Enrique is believed to want a more direct attacking option, particularly against Ligue 1 teams that defend deep and make life difficult for PSG. Osimhen’s ability to attack crosses, win physical battles and stretch defensive lines makes him an ideal solution.
The transfer fee received from Milan for Ramos could also be redirected toward financing a move for the Nigerian star, making the deal strategically important beyond the football side of things.
Why Victor Osimhen could be tempted by PSG
While PSG’s interest is clear, convincing Osimhen’s current club remains a major challenge. The Nigerian has been outstanding in Istanbul, scoring 22 goals and becoming the face of Galatasaray’s sporting and commercial project. His performances have strengthened the Turkish giants’ negotiating position, meaning they are under little pressure to sell. Galatasaray will likely demand a huge fee for their star striker.
Despite that obstacle, there are several reasons why Osimhen could view PSG as an attractive destination.
First is the footballing project. PSG are undoubtedly the strongest club in Europe at the moment, having won the UEFA Champions League in successive seasons. Signing Osimhen would immediately place the French champions as favourites to land a third continental crown on the bounce, becoming only the second team after Real Madrid to complete a ‘Three-Peat’ in modern times.

Second is his likely role in the team. Ramos’ departure means Victor Osimhen would arrive as the undisputed first-choice No. 9 rather than sharing minutes with another elite striker. Few top European clubs can currently offer him such a clear path to becoming the centrepiece of their attack.
Third is the financial package. PSG are among the few clubs capable of matching Osimhen’s salary expectations, which have reportedly been a stumbling block for several Premier League sides. The French club also have the commercial power to offer sponsorship opportunities and image-rights arrangements that many rivals struggle to match.
Finally, there is the familiarity factor. Osimhen already knows French football well from his successful spell at Lille, where he first established himself as a bright young forward. That experience would allow him to settle quickly and focus immediately on delivering goals.
With Ramos now on his way to Milan, PSG have solved one of the biggest obstacles standing between them and Osimhen. The transfer is far from complete, but the path toward a reunion between the French champions and the Nigerian striker has become much clearer.
