Italian football agent Dario Canovi has stated that Victor Osimhen will depart from Napoli next summer.
The Super Eagles star recently signed a contract extension that runs through the summer of 2026 with the Partenopei. It's worth noting that the deal guarantees the striker €10m (N9.9 billion) annually and has a release clause of €130m (N129 billion), reportedly.
Despite Osimhen's contract renewal, some clubs are expected to make a bid for the former Wolfsburg player. The 24-year-old drew the attention of some of the biggest teams in the world with stellar performances that helped Napoli to its first Serie A title in over three decades. This also earned the Nigeria forward a plethora of plaudits, including the African Footballer of the Year award.
Osimhen on the move?
On that note, Dario Canovi believes that the Super Eagles player will ply his trade elsewhere next season. Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus are some of the names reported to have signaled an interest in the striker in recent months.
According to Canovi, Osimhen's contract extension is a ploy to increase his asking price.
“It is a renewal that simply serves to increase the price. In my opinion, he will go away in June,” Canovi told TuttoMercatoWeb.
The former Lille player is expected to join the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations next month.
