Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke has been named Sevilla’s Player of the Month for September following a string of standout performances.

The 26-year-old, who joined Sevilla during the summer transfer window, has quickly established himself as a key player in the squad, catching the eye of fans and pundits alike with his ability in the carry.

Ejuke's form in September was pivotal for Sevilla. He made five appearances throughout the month, contributing one goal—a crucial late winner in Sevilla’s 2-1 victory over Real Valladolid. His strike came in the 85th minute and proved decisive in securing all three points for his side. The win was one of two victories for Sevilla in a month, and it also saw them register two defeats and one draw.

Wizard Ejuke dazzling in La Liga and back in Super Eagles’ fold

What has truly set Ejuke apart this season has been his exceptional dribbling ability. The winger has completed 28 successful dribbles, more than any other player in La Liga, including Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal.

With an impressive average of 3.5 successful dribbles per game and a 67% completion rate, Ejuke has been almost unplayable on the wings, dazzling defenders with his pace and trickery.

Ejuke’s fine form has not gone unnoticed on the international stage, as interim Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen has called him up for Nigeria’s AFCON 2025 Qualifiers doubleheader against Libya in October.

The winger, who last featured for the Super Eagles in 2022, is expected to join the national team camp today as he looks to make his mark once again on the international scene.
