Super Eagles prospect Arthur Okonkwo played a crucial role in Wrexham's goalless draw against Bolton in League One, marking the first clash between the two sides since 1988.

In front of 25,957 fans, Okonkwo delivered a standout performance, making several key saves to preserve his team's unbeaten start to the season.

Wrexham, who were solid defensively throughout the match, relied heavily on Okonkwo’s sharp reflexes to keep Bolton at bay.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper was particularly impressive in the second half, where he made a vital stop to deny a deflected shot from Dion Charles, ensuring he secured his first clean sheet of the season.

Okonkwo named player of the match after impressive display

Sky Sports pundit Sam Parkin was quick to acknowledge Arthur Okonkwo’s impact, naming him the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. Okonkwo’s efforts were instrumental in helping Wrexham secure a valuable point and build on their 3-2 victory over Wycombe Wanderers on the opening day of the season.

Last season, while on loan from Arsenal, Okonkwo was a key figure for Wrexham in League Two, keeping 14 clean sheets—the third-highest in the division. His impressive form led to a permanent move to Wrexham after his contract with Arsenal expired. Now, the Anglo-Nigerian goalkeeper is focused on leading the Red Dragons to further success, with back-to-back promotions firmly in his sights.
