Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen delivered a sensational performance at Rams Park on Saturday night, netting a brace as Galatasaray cruised to a 4-1 victory over Sivasspor.
Osimhen has enjoyed a sensational season with his loan club since joining from Napoli in September 2024. His brace against Sivasspor on Saturday saw him make it 33 goals throughout the campaign in all competitions.
With 33 goals to his name this season, the 26-year-old has now eclipsed his previous best of 31 goals, set during the 2022–2023 campaign with Napoli.

In doing so, he has equalled Enner Valencia’s record for the most goals scored by a foreign player in a single Super Lig season and moved one ahead of teammate Mauro Icardi’s tally of 32 from the previous term.
Osimhen reflects on record-breaking season: ‘It’s not just about goals, it’s about the team
After scoring twice in Galatasaray’s emphatic victory over Sivasspor, Osimhen shared an emotional reflection on his remarkable season.
The Nigerian striker spoke to Galatasaray’s official website about what the milestone meant to him and those who stood by him throughout the journey.
“It was important to break my record in my first season. I am at one of the most important clubs in the world,” he said. “The biggest club in Turkiye. I would like to thank my family and friends for helping me. I would like to thank the technical team and the club staff. They never left me alone. This season is a memory that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
On his playing philosophy, he added, “Apart from goals and assists, I like to help the team. I want to get the ball in the future, help the midfield, do my best for the team. The team comes first for me. When I convert opportunities into goals, it makes me happy. The important thing is not Victor Osimhen, but the team.”

Osimhen's loan spell with the Turkish champions is set to conclude at the end of the season, with his contract at Napoli including a €75 million (£63.2 million) buyout clause.
