Super Falcons prospect Edna Imade continued her remarkable run of form for Granada CF Women, scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 victory over Madrid CFF on Saturday.
The 24-year-old striker, who has now scored in four consecutive matches, was once again the difference-maker for the Nazaríes in the Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino.
Imade’s goal came in the 19th minute, a clinical right-footed shot from the right side of the box into the bottom left corner.
It followed a string of strikes against Badalona, Levante, and Deportivo La Coruña.
A constant threat in attack
The Morocco-born forward, who was a menace throughout the game, also came close to adding to her tally with a number of attempts.
In the 46th minute, a right-footed effort from outside the box was blocked, while a 62nd-minute shot narrowly missed the target. Later, her 75th-minute header was saved by the opposing goalkeeper after a well-placed cross from teammate Laura Pérez.
Despite the win, Granada’s inconsistent form remains a concern. The team sits in sixth place after 13 games, with six wins, one draw, and six losses. They have scored 20 goals but conceded 22, leaving them with a -2 goal difference and 19 points.
Imade’s glamour season
Imade’s performances this season have been nothing short of extraordinary. She has scored nine goals in 13 league appearances, ranking as one of the league’s top scorers.
Only FC Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor has more goals, underlining Imade’s ability to excel despite playing for a mid-table side.
Born to Nigerian parents during a migration journey in Morocco, Imade grew up in Spain, where her passion for football blossomed. Now 24, she is steadily emerging as one of the top Nigerian prospects in women’s football, showing her quality week after week.
