Edna Imade’s exceptional form showed no signs of slowing down as the Granada CF Women’s forward netted in their 4-2 victory over Sevilla FC Femenino in the Round of 16 of the Copa de la Reina.
The 24-year-old striker, who has now scored in five consecutive matches, was instrumental in securing Granada’s place in the next round.
Imade, renowned for her precision in front of goal, delivered once again, scoring in the 44th minute with a clinical right-footed strike into the bottom left corner.
Her goal restored Granada's lead at 2-1 just before halftime, following an equaliser from Sevilla’s Alba Cerrato.
This latest goal adds to Imade’s stellar tally of 10 goals in 14 appearances this season.
A complete performance
While her goal was a crucial moment in the match, Imade’s impact extended far beyond the scoresheet. Her tireless movement and creative play in the final third kept Sevilla’s defence on edge throughout the game.
Imade also provided an assist, further underlining her importance to Granada’s attacking setup beyond scoring.
The Morocco-born forward has been a consistent threat in recent weeks, scoring in league matches against Badalona, Levante, Deportivo La Coruña, and Madrid CFF.
Her contributions have been pivotal to Granada’s impressive run of form, which now includes four consecutive wins and an unbeaten streak of five matches across all competitions.
Imade’s all-around performance has strengthened calls for her inclusion in the Super Falcons squad. With Nigeria seeking attacking options, Imade’s exploits in Spain are increasingly difficult to overlook.
Granada will aim to carry their momentum into their next match against Real Madrid.
