The 25-year-old, who scored his fourth goal in the Super Lig in the game since his season-long loan move from Napoli on Monday, had earlier stressed the team's determination to secure victory against their city rivals.

Monday's victory solidified Okan Buruk's team at the summit of the table, bringing their points total to 28 from 10 matches.

Osimhen: Strong partnership with Icardi fuels Galatasaray's ambition

After Galatasaray's impressive 2-1 victory over Beşiktaş, Osimhen expressed his excitement about the team's performance and his partnership with Argentine forward Icardi.

“I said we would beat Beşiktaş, and we did. We will beat Tottenham too,” he said as per Star Spor.

“The goal contribution is valuable; I am happy, but it is more important for the team to win. We have to continue with this momentum. Icardi and I understand each other very well.

“We work together in training. I know how experienced he is. It is an honour to play with Icardi. It is very difficult for any defence to block us. If they block me, he goes out; if they block him, I go out. They cannot stop us.”

Osimhen has made seven goal contributions for the Turkish champions in seven games across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists, while averaging 69 minutes per game.
