Premier League, Ligue 1 stars among first 18 in Super Eagles camp ahead of Poland, Portugal friendlies

The Super Eagles’ training camp for the upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Portugal has opened in Warsaw, Poland, with 18 players in attendance, Afrik-Foot reports.

​Nigeria, fresh off winning the Unity Cup, is set to return to action on June 3 for the friendly game against Poland.

​As previously reported, coach Eric Chelle named two different squads: one for the Unity Cup and another for these two friendlies. While the Unity Cup squad consisted mainly of fringe stars, Chelle has named the big guns in the squad to battle Poland and Portugal.

​According to the team’s media officer, the camp opened today, June 1, and 18 players have already arrived. Premier League players like Frank Onyeka and Semi Ajayi have already reported in Warsaw. Ligue 1-based players like Moses Simon, and Terem Moffi are also present.

​Although 27 players were originally invited, Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Yusuf Alhassan have all withdrawn from the games. As of the first day of camp, the following 18 players have reported:

The game between Nigeria and Poland will be played at the National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland on June 3.
