Kaizer Chiefs’ four signings confirmed ahead of Netherlands trip

Kaizer Chiefs seem to have all but confirmed the signings of four new players after including them in the club’s pre-season squad set to depart to the Netherlands next month.

Chiefs returned for pre-season on Friday and among those who have been in training are their fresh faces with former Orlando Pirates full-backs Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako as well as Asanele Velebayi, who has joined from Cape Town Spurs, and Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro.

According to African Times, all four are among players who have applied for visas to the Netherlands, indicating that they have completed their transfers to the Glamour Boys, and are ready to begin a new chapter at Naturena.

The squad also includes a number of players whose futures are up in the air as some had their game time significantly reduced last season while others are coming to the end of their deals.

Which players face uncertain futures at Chiefs?

Goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, midfielder George Matlou and striker Tashreeq Morris are among players whose futures are unknown at Chiefs.

Ntwari has been reported to be looking to leave Chiefs after falling down the pecking order just months after signing for the club while it is not known if Matlou will get a new deal as his current contract comes to the end this month.

Meanwhile, Morris hugely disappointed in his first six months at the club, scoring no goal, and it is believed that Chiefs will seek to move him on when they find another striker before the window shuts.

Chiefs will leave for the Netherlands on July 3 with friendly matches against Eredivisie sides FC Utrecht and NEC Nijmegen scheduled on July 11 and 12 respectively.
